What does the ADA Center mean to me? - Lauren Kessler

Lauren Kessler October 03, 2024

To me, the ADA Center means a place to learn about your rights and responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act from knowledgeable and passionate staff members. Working behind the scenes at the Northeast ADA Center, I’ve witnessed first-hand how much our staff cares about what they do and how diligently they work to help everyone in our Region. Our staff is always brainstorming new resources and presentations, improving our practices, and seeking out opportunities to learn about the most pressing concerns of our communities. I watch as they respond to feedback and devise plans to address the needs of our stakeholders. I’ve also seen the positive effects of their hard work! From webinars and trainings to outreach and technical assistance, I hear directly from our stakeholders how much they appreciate our efforts and how much they have learned about their rights and responsibilities under the ADA. My perception of the Northeast ADA Center has been shaped by these interactions. Often, I hear stories of people who frequently return to the Center because they know it’s a reliable and friendly resource, or they weren’t aware of our services but now plan to use our resources going forward. This feedback tells a story of trust and understanding. To me, The Northeast ADA Center is a team dedicated to fulfilling our mission by providing meaningful interactions to demystify the ADA and empowering our stakeholders to be confident in their rights and act in their communities.
